noir Pronunciation (nwär) adj.
1. Of or relating to the film noir genre.
2. Of or relating to a genre of crime literature featuring tough, cynical characters and bleak settings.
3. Suggestive of danger or violence.

ru·ral Pronunciation (rrl) adj.
1. Of, relating to, or characteristic of the country.
2. Of or relating to people who live in the country: rural households.
3. Of or relating to farming; agricultural.

ru·ral noir Pronunciation (rrl) (nwär)
1. New genre of noir literature.
2. Of or relating to a genre of literature featuring tough, cynical characters and bleak settings.
